Assessment Parameters

Validators will be assessed by considering a mixture of parameters forming a holistic impression of each candidate. The following is a list and categorization of some of the parameters:

Technical

  • Uptime performance.
  • Services and Tools - Node operation for testnets, Public goods like blockchain explorers, snapshot services, RPC Endpoints
  • IBC relayers maintenance - Setting up and maintaining selected channels
  • Node-related services - State Sync, seed nodes, archive nodes
  • Code contributions - official coding contributions, bug fixes, and contributions to coding efforts and discussions.
  • Experience and Performance - Solid record, uptime, slashing events, running up-to-date software.

Community Contributions

  • Business Development - Onboarding of builders, engagement with team, partnership facilitation, introduction to other contributing teams, strategic collaborations.
  • Governance - Active participation in related discussions, governance proposals, and voting.
  • Social media involvement including articles, memes, videos, etc.
  • Education and Support - Creation of “How to” Guides, translations, helping beginners, and providing live support.
  • Promotion of healthy and conductive cultural and communication norms within the community including availability and timely communications.

Decentralization Parameters - Validator geographies, data centers, service providers, and operational setups.

Unique Contributions - Unique, and exceptionally valuable contributions. Validators who would like to offer such contributions are welcome to contact the team.
