Censorship Resistance

Dymension L1 designates specific addresses as active sequencers for RollApps. These entities may produce blocks and commit state updates to Dymension L1. Sequencers may be rotated upon meeting the criteria for an eviction.

Mitigating censorship risk

Sequencer rotation

Sequencers must bond a global minimum amount of DYM tokens to actively produce blocks. When Sequencers are kicked out of rotation for liveness or security reasons the following bonded sequencer keys are eligible to produce blocks, commit state updates to Dymension, and earn RollApp rewards.

Force inclusion

In upcoming upgrades users will be able to submit transactions for inclusion into a RollApp though Dymension. The sequencer will then need to send an inclusion proof to Dymension against the relevant block data hash, if the sequencer fails to include a user-submitted transaction within a pre-determined time frame it will get slashed and jailed.
